SASKATOON, SKDaylon Ball is a senior software engineer in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. He builds web and mobile products with React, Next.js, TypeScript and Node.js, and runs them on GCP and AWS. Over eight years he has taken products from first commit to production scale, usually as the engineer who owns architecture, frontend and backend together.
He was the founding engineer and technical lead at Cubbi, where he built the MVP and production platform from zero, hired every engineer, and scaled it to roughly $2M ARR, 3M+ orders and 100+ kitchens and vendors. Today he is a senior software engineer at WorkTango, working on Constellation, an AI-driven employee experience platform. Since 2018 he has also run Devnull Digital, a software and venture studio that has shipped 50+ products for 30+ founders across Canada and incubates TrainerOS and RealtyTree.
Daylon holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science (Honours) with a Mathematics minor from the University of Saskatchewan. His work has been recognized with the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce Young Entrepreneur Bursary Award in 2025 and the North Saskatoon Business Association Young Promising Entrepreneur Award in 2022. I've worked very closely with Daylon when we first put together a small software start-up called Zellentech for a Cannabis growth and distribution management platform. As a dev who didn't have much experience at the time, he worked incredibly hard on building the front and back end of the platform as well teaching himself on building the mobile app. He did an incredible job on getting it up and running and was great at turning a vision into a reality. With no hesitation, he put in dozens of hours of R&D and kept a stream of communication with the rest of the team that was easy to digest and pushed the rest of the team to keep a fast pace.
